War Memorial in Kundasang, Sabah.

Established in 1962, this was one of the first memorials to commemorate the brave Australian and British Prisoners of War who died in Sandakan and during the infamous death marches to Ranau during World War II. The memorial also remembers the people of North Borneo who risked their lives to help the Prisoners of Wars.

The Memorial is made up of four beautiful gardens - the Australian Garden, the English Garden, the Borneo Garden and the Contemplation Garden and Pool. It is  to represent the different nationalities. With its towering pine trees and blooming roses, a walk in the gardens is reminiscent to that of a stroll in a quaint English garden. The scent of roses lingers in the air and the serene atmosphere makes the Kundasang War Memorial an ideal place to contemplate and remember the heroes of the war.

Habibah - Ibu kepada Rosli Dhoby

Seruan dari rakan seperjuagan dalam SSKM (Sabah_Sarawak Keluar Malaysia)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rakan - rakan semua. Sokongan pro Malaysia ini timbul kerana tidak faham apakah yg rasional SSKM ini. Sini saya terangkan:
Bukan sebab kita tidak dapat hasil sepatutnya kita marah dan mahu keluar, Jika ini persoalannya maka kita tuntut dimahkamah.
Bukan sebab kerajaan tempatan yang lemah dan memperbodohkan dan menindas kita. Kita mahu keluar, jika ini persoalannya kita boleh kempen dipilihanraya
Tapi bila KEDAULATAN negara kita Sabah dan Sarawak dinodai dan kita merelakan maka itu menunjukkan kalian buta sejarah, Kalian tahu apa yg kalian telah buat?
YA negera Sarawak telah berdaulat 170 tahun. Miliki rajah yg berdaulat, dijajah 20 tahun dan merdeka 22 julai 1963.
Ya negeri sabah berdaulat 123 tahun, Dijajah jepun 4 tahun dan merdeka 31 ogos 1963.
JANGAN buta sejarah, JANGAN buta mata degan apa yang dilihat dan dipertontonkan. JANGAN leka dengan apa yang kalian nikmati.
Dgn mengatakan sudah terlambat kita merdeka, kalian telah mengatakan ...
yang perjuangan Rosli Dhobi itu satu jenaka,
perjuangan Ranger Sarawak itu satu jenaka,
wasiat Rajah Brooke itu satu jenaka.
Perlantikan Koroh bin Santulan itu satu jenaka,
kematian Ketua Menteri Tan Sri Fuad Stephen itu satu jenaka.
perjuangan rakyat Sabah tentang jepun itu satu jenaka.
Demonstrasi  "anti cesssion"  itu satu jenaka.
Tanah adat itu satu jenaka.
Sabah dan sarawak itu satu jenaka.
Perjuangan SSKM ini bukan omongan kosong. Bukan perkara enteng yg boleh kalian dijadikan permainan lidah dan bola pencaturan politik.
SSKM berjuang demi kedaulatan NEGARA yg sudah merdeka dan tiba-tiba tanpa referendum kita diasimilasikan jadi negeri malaya. Kata putus kita dipegang Putrajaya. ITU TIDAK ADIL! ITU DIJAJAH NAMANYA. HARTA KITA DIRAMPAS DAN ANAK NEGERI KATA ITU ADIL UTK SEMUA NEGERI? Itu baru saya kata satu jenaka!
Point 1: Religion
While there was no objection to Islam being the national religion of Malaysia there should be no State religion in Borneo (Sarawak & Sabah), and the provisions relating to Islam in the present Constitution of Malaya should not apply to Borneo
Double Six Tragedy in Memory
36 years ago 6.6.1976 Tun Mohd Fuad Stephens Chief Minister of  Sabah and 10 of his cabinets met with this tragedy (or conspiration?)
The Double Six Tragedy, also known as the Double Six Crash, was a plane crash which took place on June 6, 1976 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. The plane, operated by Sabah Air, coming from Labuan crashed in the sub-district of Sembulan in Kota Kinabalu upon approaching Kota Kinabalu International Airport. The crash killed everyone on board the flight, including Tun Fuad Stephens, the Chief Minister of Sabah at that time.
The other passengers on the flight were State Ministers Datuk Salleh Sulong, Datuk Peter Mojuntin, Chong Thien Vun, and assistant minister Darius Binion. Others who perished were the then Secretary of State for the Ministry of Finance of Sabah Datuk Wahid Peter Andau, Director of Economic Planning Unit of Sabah Dr. Syed Hussein Wafa, Isak Atan (Private Secretary to Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah), Corporal Said Mohammad (bodyguard to Tun Fuad Stephens), Captain Gandhi Nathan (the pilot of the aircraft) and Tun Fuad's eldest son Johari Stephens.
The reason behind the crash is uncertain. Immediately after the accident there were allegations of foul play due to the political circumstances at the time. The Australian government sent a team of four investigators to assist in finding the cause of the accident. Mechanical failure was ruled out, and preliminary investigations indicated overloading was one of the contributing factors. The real reason for the crash remains a mystery, and the original report on the incident remains classified.
In the afternoon following the accident, Deputy Chief Minister Harris Salleh was sworn in as the sixth Chief Minister of Sabah.
The aircraft was an Australian designed and built Nomad. Tragedy happened at 3:50PM and crashed was in Sembulan, Kota - Kinabalu.
Borneo Citizen (Sarawakian) been abducted by Strangers in Sarawak, Malaysia
Malaysians and the world expect them to immediately throw light on the whereabouts of Peter as six hours are definitely enough time for the police authorities to come out with clear statement of Jaban’s whereabouts or an open admission that lawlessness in Malaysia have reached a new level where three persons completely uninvolved with the police or the government have abducted Peter in broad daylight in Miri in Malaysia! Also from his family  back in  Sarawak :
 Quoted :
Yesterday, Peter’s father Jaban said Peter’s alleged disappearance in Miri was the only news the family had of Peter.
“I have not seen him for two years,” said Jaban who lives in Jalan Dato Mohd Musa (old Muara Tuang Road) in Kota Samarahan. He said he hoped one day Peter would come to his senses and take days off from RFS to visit them, especially on festive occasions.
 On June 10th, 2012 [from peter John Jaban] - This is our chance is to bring about real change in Sarawak politics. My struggle for Sarawak will continue where it’s needed most.
The events of the last week have revealed many things. The first is just a reminder of how much I love this country, how much I love Sarawak.
As the Malay saying goes: ‘Hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri.’ I am a Sarawakian. I need to be here among my people to work effectively. I started Radio Free Sarawak and moved to London mainly because freedom of expression here in my own country is lacking – something that I am trying to change. But, I just couldn’t stay away.
Now, I feel that I can best continue my struggle for the future of Sarawak here. No matter what London offers, it has nothing to compare to my own ties that bind me to Sarawak, my ibu pertiwiku, as it is called in the Sarawak state anthem.
So, maybe you’ll see me driving around town in my Cadillac with my beautiful daughter at my side. I’ll even wave again at YB Abdul Karim Hamzah, Assistant Youth Development Minister, as he stares at me from his tiny classic car.
What else have I learnt from the last week? I have learnt that I am safer here than in any other country. In spite of all the stories from the government-controlled media trying to paint me black, I have learnt that, when I need help, the people of Sarawak are right there behind me.
There are so many great heroes here in this state, carrying on their good work and supporting my own; I feel proud to work with them and will continue to do so wherever they need me.With regards the near future, I will continue to take action, fighting on the ground for the people of Sarawak.
I fly no flag but theirs, as I have always done. I know that Radio Free Sarawak will carry on, business as usual, spreading the message to where it is needed and, of course, I will give them every assistance in that.
I urge listeners to continue to tune in and listen to the real message. You might even hear me reporting from the interior. But from now on, I’m staying right here.
........................
 My thanks go out to them and all those who helped me – the good Samaritans, Dr Michael Teo, the lawyers Alan Ling and See Chee How. If any fingers are still being pointed at my supporters and friends who came to my aid in my time of need – I want this to stop now.
This is the only reason why I am making this statement at this time.  In reality, I’d be quite happy for this whole event to pass into history. ~ Peter John Jaban ; famously known as Papa OrangUtan.
